There are lots of situations where you would prefer to look your best and the beach is definitely going to be on a lot of people’s lists as we get into the Summer season. So, in the few weeks or maybe even months before you venture out onto the sand you may have been getting your body into shape. However, all your hard work may count for nothing if you don’t have the right beachwear. There are a number of things to take into account, and you may want to consider having multiple outfits, or at least multiple items of beachwear to suit different situations.
For example, if your day will consist mainly of lounging in the sun, then a knock out bikini will probably be the order of the day, but if you are planning on swimming, then maybe you could go with a one piece swimsuit. Maybe you would also go for the one piece suit if you don’t want to get too much of your body out. There are more and more cutaway one piece swimsuits on the market now. Sometimes they are called monokinis, but they are designed to keep you looking stunning even if you are a bit shy about your body. Don’t forget too, that sometimes, the temperature could drop unexpectedly as the clouds move in or the wind picks up and so a suitable coverup should also be on your list of essential beachwear fashion.
The cover up is something that a lot of people forget about until the last minute and this should not be the case. You should put as much thought and effort into choosing a nice cover up as you would to choose your bikini or swimsuit. It should be casual enough to throw on at a moment’s notice, which means it should be lightweight, not bulky. Look around for a nice Kaftan or casual dress.
Don’t forget that to finish off the look you will need suitable shoes for the beach as well as appropriate accessories. A nice pair of flip flops are always a winner for strolling along the sand, and for when you are taking lunch in a beach side restaurant, a nice pair of fashioable sandles will fit the occassion nicely along with a nice flowing skirt or sarong to make you feel more lady like and less exposed. Other accessories will finish things off nicely such as a nice pair of sunglasses, a hat and a nice bag to match your outfit. By the way, the choice of bag is important. Don’t just go for any old bag you have lying around or the cheapest one you have found at a local market. The bag you carry helps to define you and so you may have two or three bags for different occassions or to match your outfit for that particular day or activity.
So, remember, your beach attire is much more than just a bikini or a swimsuit. You need to consider your whole outfit to ensure you always look your best in every situation this Summer
Choose a Swimsuit that Flatters YOU

No-one is perfect and everyone looks different in the mirror compared with how they are viewed by other people. However, if you don’t think you look good in the mirror then you won’t have the confidence to wear that killer swimsuit on the beach of your choice this Summer. If you choose carefully, a good swimsuit can hide what you believe are your imperfections and can draw attention to the assets you think are your best. A flattering swimsuit is only flattering if it looks good on you – never mind what it looks like on the models in the catalogues pages. Having said that, the flattering swimsuit will show off everything that is good about a woman’s figure. There are some tips I would like to share with you that will help you decide on the swimsuit for you. These tips are based on a combination of the best colour, print, cut and lines:
1 – Use prints. Printed fabrics can trick the eye into following a different line to the one your body might actually possess. If you are self conscious and think that you look too thin in a swimsuit, be on the lookout for swimsuits with bold exciting prints in bright colours. This simple rule applies to both one piece suits and bikinis. If you are the opposite and want to take attention away from the fact that you are heavier, you will still find swimsuits with prints you can use, but in this case you should look for smaller prints on darker backgrounds and less contrast because this tends to have a slimming effect. Now, the interesting thing is that you can use this technique in combination, so if you have a boyish upper body figure but are fuller around the hips, then you could go for a combination of bold bright print on top and a darker, simpler bottom half. That’s the power of using prints with the right combination of colours and patterns across different parts of the suit.
2 – Choose a one piece swimsuit if you are overweight, especially if you carry weight around the stomach area. One piece swimsuits will have the effect of smoothing out sagging skin too.
3 – Some people feel too exposed and uncomfortable in a bikini, especially if they are larger. It is important to choose a swimsuit that emphasises your best assets. If you have a classic hourglass figure, most one piece bathing suits will flatter you. If you have large breasts, look for a suit that has adequate built in support in the top so that you can show off some cleavage without looking trashy. If you have an amazing bottom, then go for a suit with a high cut skimpy backside.
4 – Have you heard of the Monokini. This is essentially a bikini that has some extra fabric joing the two halves together to essentially make a relatively revealing one piece swimsuit. This type of suit is ideal if you are pear shaped, i.e. your legs and bottom are larger than your bust and waist. This works because there is less fabric joining the top and bottom halves of the suit and so it draws attention to your torso and giving the illusion that it is longer and slender. This also means that attention is drawn away from your lower body.
5 – If you have small breasts then go for the classic triangle top. This doesn’t just apply to bikinis, you can get the same shape in a one piece swimsuit too. Most of these types of top come with padding, some of which may even be removable, allowing you to create the illusion of larger breasts.
6 – If you are apple shaped, i.e. there isn’t much difference in size between your top and bottom halves, then go for the suit that emphasizes both your chest and your bottom.
7 – Try a Brazillian cut bikini for a different shape on the beach
8 – You could also look for a padded or push up type bra as part of a two piece bikini to draw attention to your assets.
9 – Don’t forget that in some circumstances, swimsuits are not necessarily for swimming in. For some Summer adventures and perhaps cruises etc, the call is purely for fashion as the most it will be used for is sunning yourself at the side of the pool. Go for a bandeau, tube top or strapless one piece for this, especially if shoulder tan lines are a concern.
10 – If however, your activities will include some swimming you may want to go specifically for a one piece suit or a cropped top with a pair of swim shorts or trunks. Especially if your swim includes other activities such as pool games or aquarobics. The aim here would be for functionality over fashion.
Finally – shop around. Just because you have heard of a certain brand of bikini or swimsuit, it doesn’t mean they have something to fit the bill for you. Check out all the different brands and styles as they are extensive and so you are bound to be able to find something that is absolutely perfect for you.
Sexy Thin Thighs – You Can Have them too!

‘Sexy thin thighs’ – it’s an elusive goal among so many women the world over. Elusive, not because it’s an unachievable goal – but because just about every woman doesn’t know the true way to get attractively slim and toned, sexy thighs.
Here’s how to do it.
I recently had a chance to catch up with one of my favorite fitness colleagues at a womens’ fitness conference in South Florida. We got into a conversation about the 2 ways women try to get sexy thin thighs…
Those 2 ways are:

2 – The Hard Way
The Hard Way actually was a long list of the many wrong and self-destructive ways of ‘attempting’ to get nice thin thighs, ranging from unrealistic heavy weights and uncomfortable machine type exercise programs to bogus ’spa’ treatments (like body wraps) to ’slimming pills’ to crazy ‘diets’ to ridiculous ‘cleansing’ juice fasts to ‘miracle’ thigh lotions and creams…
Of course, there was a whole lot more than that, but you get the idea of our candid conversation – that eventually came to the subject of The Easy Way to get attractively thin thighs.
This, of course, first assumes that a woman has flabby, fat, thick and heavy thighs – that she is unhappy, maybe even depressed because of them and wants to slim them down and firm them up.
Both of us wholeheartedly agreed that the easiest way for a woman to get sexy thin thighs is by:
Rule One – following a properly structured, and targeted exercise routine, that focuses on the problem areas (in this case – the fat thighs).
Rule Two – combining that program with the right type and amount of cardiovascular exercise for calorie burning.
Rule Three – following a healthy, simple, and ‘calorifically correct’ eating plan with foods that are readily available at any modern supermarket and taste good!
Rule Four – [Most Important] Committing to a lifestyle of ‘fitness’ habits that naturally result in a woman having ‘those eye catching thighs’ and a body to match, for the rest of her fun filled life.
Please make a note that ‘thin thighs’ is a relative term – and most often can be replaced by ‘thinner thighs’ – because let’s face it – ‘too thin’ is not sexy or desirable either.
Which takes us back to my philosophy on fitness and life:
“It’s all about balance. Proper balance, that is.” In other words – you can balance the wrongs things and that won’t bring you the results you want. You must balance the right elements in order to get the desired outcome.

It’s not a good idea to try completely to cover your bum with lots of fabric, since that will only draw more attention to that area. When you’re looking for bikinis, choose one or two that contain a high quality of Lycra which will pull your buttocks in and up in just the right amount. Your best styling tip is to choose a bikini where the bottoms have full coverage, with no bows, ties, or ruffles.

15 Minutes to a Clean Micro Bikini Wax

Should you have one done? Well let’s have a look at the advantages and the procedure.
To prepare for wearing a summer bikini, or for being able to wear more revealing lingerie many women have a bikini wax at a salon, spa.
Why Have a Bikini Wax?
For a woman with lots of pubic hair, a bikini wax will ensure she isn’t embarrassed when showing a bikini line when wearing a thong, string bikini or a revealing swim suit.
This has led to a trend not just for more women to have a bikini wax but to go for total hair removal from the area via a Brazilian wax. More of that later lets look at the Bikini wax.
Also, many women and men believe that less hair in the pubic area looks and feels more erotic.
If you are considering having a bikini wax, keep in mind that the pubic hair removal process can be a bit painful and it’s a regular beauty treatment, as hair will grow back in around 3 weeks
Preparing Yourself
Before you have your treatment, take a shower and clean your pubic area.
They don’t feel uncomfortable and neither should you.
Don’t worry bout the embarrassment factor a waxer has seen it all before and really is no more embarrassing than getting undressed at the gym, in fact it is less embarrassing you’re with a women who does it as a full time job.
The Treatment
You will get into a separate room or an area partitioned by a curtain for privacy.
The therapist / waxer will then go to work and trim down your pubic hair with scissors to a length of a quarter of an inch in preparation for the wax to be applied.
You will need to lie on a bed with your knees up or legs down.
The therapist will use a low temperature wax which causes less pain.
The waxer will start the waxing process.
This is where you will feel some pain or discomfort but it’s not normally as bad as most people think it will be and the first time is always the most painful.
When the wax cools the therapist will remove the pubic hair.
After the first session it gets more comfortable and easier.
You may find your legs up in the air, to the side and even over your head as your waxer completes the process which should take no more than 30 minutes and probably less.
The waxer will ask you to get into some odd positions for easy access so she can remove the hair.
If you feel uncomfortable or nervous, just tell the therapist and she will pause generally it’s the anticipation more than the pain most women fear.
If the waxer is a good one the discomfort and painful part will be over quickly.
Your bikini area will stay hairless for around 3 weeks with no maintenance at all and then you will be due another session with your waxer.
When the waxing is done a soothing lotion will be applied to the waxed area.
The Verdict
For 15 – 30 minutes of discomfort and its not as bad as most women think it will be most women are delighted with their new shaved look. The bikini wax is also a good introduction to the next waxing which is full removal via the Brazilian wax. Waxing is more popular than ever with women and has some great advantages for you to consider.
It’s clean, it’s sensual and it’s liberating and that’s something for all women to enjoy!

The bikini doesn’t have to be a frightening prospect. You may be sat there in front of your PC right now thinking to yourself that when you go on holiday this year, you may just go for a one piece swimsuit and an extra large towel to hide under. Don’t forget though, that you are your own worst critic. There are a number of things you can do to ensure you look your best on the beach this Summer. The first is to make sure you choose the right size bikini. If you have put on a few pounds since you got married or had the kids or whatever, then your current bikini may be a little tight, and this is one of the biggest reasons why it may not look as good as it once did. And is probably the reason why you are here on the Beach Garments website looking for a new one.
First of all, measure yourself properly and make sure you buy the right size bikini. This is where a bikini has an advantage over the one piece swim suit. Bikinis come in two parts. Why not buy them in two parts? La Senza for example specialise in producing bikinis which fit like underwear with cup sizes and waist sizes that mix and match to ensure the perfect outfit (actually quite a lot of the other swimwear brands do this too). What’s more La Senza don’t believe in adding cost just because you are a bigger cup size. All their bikini tops are priced exactly the same no matter what your cup size. The next thing is to ensure you choose the right style for your body shape. If you have bigger legs, although this might sound strange, you should consider trying string bikini bottoms instead of shorts, as the tightness of the shorts around your legs will emphasize their size. If you have relatively short legs then choose a bikini bottom which has a high cut to the leg as this will emphasize your leg length. However, if you want to shorten the look of your upper body, why not consider a tankini?
You are undoubtedly hoping to return from your holiday this year with a gorgeous looking tan. Make sure you do some preparation though. You will have more confidence to step out onto the beach in your gorgeous Melissa Odabash number on day one if you already have a nice bronze colour to your skin. You can try and kick start this in your back garden but the chances are you will get frost bite here in the UK long before your skin starts to turn brown. Why not have a look at some artificial bronzing products, or even a few short sessions on a sunbed? Another confidence builder which pays dividends when you are trying your bikini on in front of the mirror is to pay attention to your skin. If you have had your pedicure, had your waxing treatment and exfoliated and moisturised your legs you will pass close scrutiny in the mirror. This will lead to greater confidence when stepping out on the beach where, in general, people will only be checking you out from a distance. By the way, don’t neglect your under-arms!
Why not give yourself a boost in the chic department as well. Match your bikini to your beach accessories. A great looking hat and bag, and a quality pair of sunglasses and sandals will do wonders for your overall appearance. If you want to add some length to your legs, why not try a sturdy wedge heeled sandal?
This next tip may sound a little patronising, but remember back to when your mum used to shout at you all the time “don’t slouch!”. You should put this great advice to good use on the beach. The great looking bikini babe will always walk with her shoulders back and chest forwards and will never let her stomach muscles relax, whether standing, walking or sitting. Make sure you maintain this posture at all times, and there will be no reason why that gorgeous bikini babe can’t be you!
There is always the fact though that after enjoying a few extra portions of Christmas turkey that you may have put on a few pounds since last Summer. If so, and you really want to knock ‘em dead on the beach then start thinking about a new exercise regime to tone up your muscles quite a few weeks before your intended bikini debut. Concentrate on the problem areas such as the tummy, bottom and upper arms. Use relatively light, hand-held weights. Your new bikini will look its best on a firm, toned body.
Finally, make sure you eat healthily. Stick to a balanced diet (not a faddy one which will mean piling it all on again) and drink plenty of water. This last point is important as it will help to keep your skin looking healthy and will improve its texture.
Remember, the bikini is not your enemy, it is your friend. It shows off your good parts and if you choose wisely it can accentuate your assets while drawing attention away from your less than perfect bits. Don’t hide under that towel for the whole holiday, let the bikini show you off and reveal you to be the confident person you always wanted to be.
